About Me

Grant Booysen REPSSA Member

My journey started 15 December 2005. After finishing my Gym Management and Gym Instructors Certification, through Loots Academy in conjunction with University of Pretoria, I worked at Virgin Active as a Lifestyle Consultant. Fast forward 5/6 years and in March 2011, I started my personal training practice at Virgin Active N1 City.  Coming from a predominantly sporting background, I soon became bored of the conventional physique type training and started venturing into different training modalities and health practices. I also realized how limited and unrealistic that type of training is.

I went on to finish my Spinning Instructors Certification (Loots), Sports Massage Certification (ETA), Kettlebells Ballistics Certification (Kettlebells for Africa) and First Nutrition Certification (Precision Nutrition – Canada). I have recently started the Advanced Coaching Academy with Phil Learney (UK) as I move towards being an holistic health practitioner.

I’ve also dabbled in Olympic Weightlifting (Cape Town Weightlifting Club), gymnastics fundamentals (Gymnastic Bodies – USA) and various other alternative practices which include yoga (breathing practices) and cold therapy (Wim Hof – Netherlands).

As the famous Bruce Lee saying goes – ‘Take what is useful, discard what is not, add what is uniquely you!’ So…my aim, with referencing across modalities, is to find the most effective ways to help clients live the best and healthiest life possible!
